Community Tours Sian Ka'an is a community-based company that offers ecotourism experiences in the area of influence of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve through activities that combine nature, adventure and culture. The tours are based on the principles of low environmental impact, education about the challenges for the conservation of the reserve and the promotion of a true cultural exchange.

 

At this site you can kayak in the Muyil and Chunyaxché lagoons, float in the crystalline waters of the ancient Sian Ka'an canal, observe the diversity of bird species in the reserve and learn about the ancient production of chicle, among other activities.

 

The organization called Muyil Conjunto de Aluxes S.P.R. de R.I., began operations in 1999, when the management of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve authorized them to operate a boat in the lagoon. Years later, thanks to the interest and acceptance by hotels and agencies in the region, the partners decided to found Community Tours Sian Ka'an (CTSK), as a local tour operator within the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve.

The organization has guides specialized in environmental interpretation, archaeology and bird watching who are trained in first aid for the traveler's safety.
